“While “sacrifice” suggests a choice where you lose something for another, compassion points to a state of being where everyone wins.”

– from a friend’s facebook status

I loved the above quote I saw on facebook today, and I love how it perfectly reflects the idea of compassion on Thanksgiving.  Not eating turkey is not about sacrifice, it’s about compassion, and joy, and loving life and sharing that love and joy without harming another being in the process.  I have always loved Thanksgiving, but it’s a little bit extra special now with the element of compassion, and the joy of sharing that, and the joy of discovering wonderful new foods and recreating compassionate versions of the traditional dishes, both of which bring me such joy.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
